A letter from the Executive Medical Director:

I would like to extend my warm welcome to you. I am Dr. Joseph Russo, M.D., an Addictions Psychiatrist with over 21 years of experience treating individuals with substance abuse and dual diagnosis disorders. As the Executive Medical Director and President of The Recovery Centers, and the Medical Director and Co-Founder of the original Recovery Center of Westport, I have made it our mission to help as many individuals as possible save themselves from the devastation of Addiction. We provide the latest, most cutting- edge treatment protocols aimed at achieving this goal for the entire Northeast Region of the United States. There is nothing more important than preserving the dignity and sanctity of human life. Too many individuals, families and friends have suffered incalculable losses. We are committed to ending this epidemic now.

Our treatment philosophy is client centered, and our tenets of respect, compassion and excellence serve to ensure the strong therapeutic rapport necessary for change. Our multidisciplinary teams are experts and are adept at providing comprehensive, thorough and holistic assessments and treatments for substance abuse and dual diagnosis disorders. Since treatment compliance remains a major barrier to success, and often necessitates inpatient rehabilitation, we are specifically focused on it. We provide outpatient treatment protocols that are non compliance proof. In addition, they are of sufficient duration to allow individuals to achieve real abstinence, stability and improvement in their executive functioning. We offer opioid and alcohol programs lasting 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or more, and we remain fully “hands on” throughout the entire process.

Vivitrol, Antabuse and oral Naltrexone monitoring, Suboxone, Subutex and Zubsolv maintenance, the SUBLOCADE injection, along with the latest, newly FDA Approved Probuphine Implant, are just a few of the protocols available. We are excited about the implant, a safe and effective medication preparation placed in the upper arm which provides steady and solid coverage with no risk of non compliance or diversion for up to 1 full year or more. On June 20, 2016, I was the first physician in all of New England to administer this treatment and it was aired on ABC News the next day. The Recovery Centers remains the Northeast pioneer and Center of Excellence in providing this specialized and life saving option.

Our team aims to achieve successful treatment outcomes resulting in restoration of lives. We remain on the cutting edge of addictions technology ensuring we provide the very best of care. We are committed to helping individuals save themselves from the devastation of addiction. And we invite you, as patients, practitioners and community members alike, to join us in this effort.

Very Truly Yours,

Joseph Russo, M.D.
